LEVEL 3: IMMEDIATE MANAGEMENT OF ANAPHYLAXIS (RQF)

ONE DAY COURSE | 6 HOURS LONG | CERTIFICATION GAINED UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION

This one day course is aimed at anyone wanting learn about recognising and treating the potentially life threatening condition of anaphylaxis. The course is especially aimed at those who are in close contact with someone who is known to have severe allergic reactions, whether it be a family member, pupil, or work colleague.

Over the course of the day, candidates will learn the following:

  • Calling for help and early recognition
  • Treatment for anaphylaxis
  • Key features of auto-injectors
  • Conducting a scene survey
  • Conducting an initial assessment
  • ABCDE approach
  • Positioning of the casualty
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation - CPR
  • Recognition of anaphylaxis and using an auto-injector
  • Disposal of sharps
  • Handover
Certificate gained upon completion

Successful candidates will be awarded with an Ofqual regulated qualification that sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) that is valid for 3 years

The Day's Agenda

Assessment takes place in the form of continuous observation over the duration of the course, which includes active participation in demonstrations and discussions.  The course is completed over a minimum of 6 hours and meets the guidelines set out by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid Regulations.
